This steep branch line was built in 1916 to service a new mine atop Wrays Hill at Midvalley (later Joller). The branch used several trestles which were later filled in. Mikado Locomotive 15 was bought largely as a result of the additional traffic generated here. The original alignment included a passing siding just north of the cut as well as a stub siding at the tipple.
