This shop building was used in the hammer forming and tempering of a variety of metal parts, including locomotive tubes. The building is entirely frame and likely dates from about 1882.
The building has developed a serious list in the past decade and has had to be propped up on its east side with posts. Although it seems to be stable now, it needs serious corrective work.
