Previously known as Allenton (at least until 1919) this was a passenger whistle stop on the line and does not seem to have warranted even a passenger shelter.
The village had a 1919 population of 220 and a 1990 population of 590. Its elevation is benchmarked at 583'. The principal industry in the earlier EBT days was the tanning extract plant, which closed in the early part of the twentieth century. Today several industries occupy the village in the Riverview Business Center.
