Henry Weaver of Saltillo purchased the land of hte "Taylor Coal Bank Tract" here in 1899 and opened a coal mine by early 1901. This mine shipped by wagon and sled. The mine was under the control of hte Broad Top Coal and Mineral It is unknown if it was still in operation when the EBT branch arrived in 1905 and whether there was any coal shipped on the line. There is no indication of siding or loading tipple.
