Under the wooden shop floors near the main doors is a deep cistern. The cistern served as both a water supply for the Boilers and a receptacle for condensate from various steam powerd applicances, such as the main engine. This duplex steam powere water pump pulled water from the cistern to suply the boilers.
This pump is a duplex (two steam cylinders) with a D slide valve.
