2nd #2 was constructed in 1883 for the Hibernia Mine Railroad, an iron ore hauling railroad in Rockaway, New Jersey, serving as their locomotive #4. The Hibernia Mines mines production started dropping rapidly in the 1890s which might have been the motivation for the railroad sell this locomotive.
Second #2 was the second locomotive named after Richard D. Wood, one of the early organizers of what would become the Rockhill Iron and Coal Company. 3rd #6 was purchased for Mount Union shifting in 1907 and 2nd #2 was sold for scrap in 1914. G1General References
