Third #2 started, along with another saddletanker, as a shifter on the RI&C Furnace Tramway in Rockhill. After the original locomotives purchased when the furnace were worn out, EBT #1 was pressed into service as a furnace shifter. These two saddle tankers received #1 and it returned to EBT service, and they serviced the iron furnace until it shut down permanently. After the furnaces closed, #2 was transferred to the EBT and served mostly on the Shade Gap Branch and shifting service around Rockhill. She was the smallest steam locomotive owned by the EBT. By 1931 she was worn out and was scrapped.

Third #2 was named Dinkey due it its diminutive size. Small shifter locomote were commonly referred to as "dinkeys".

Third #2 was the only Alco product owned by the East Broad Top.
