The East Broad Top Railroad and the Kovalchick Family and pleased to announce the schedule for the 2007 Fall Spectacular. Excursion trains from the original Orbisonia Station in Rockhill, PA will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue through 4:00 p.m. on October 6 & 7, 2006. The East Broad Top will be using steam locomotive #15 (built 1914), diesel locomotive 55-tonner #M-7 (built 1964), gas motorcar #M-3 (built 1924), various speeder cars (built 1920's), and a handcar. The historic M-1 gas-electric car (built 1927) will make 1 trip each day.
Tours of the Rockhill shops and roundhouse, in which the M-1, M-3, and much of the EBT's rolling stock was built, will be offered several times each day by the Friends of the EBT. Shop tour tickets can be purchased at the shop door only. Schedules can be found below.
This year the East Broad Top will operate a SPECIAL Coal Train Extra featuring an authentic train made up of #15, eight hopper cars, and a combination car. This train requires a special ticket. This is a rare chance to ride aboard an authentic EBT coal train. This train will accommodate only 40 riders on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $50 each. There will be no photo run-by of this train.
The night trains will depart at 6:45 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. on Saturday evening only. 22 excursions are scheduled to operate during this two-day event. For your convenience, several food vendors will be on site both days.
Steam locomotive #17, a 1918 Baldwin 2-8-2, will be on display during this event.
The Rockhill Trolley Museum will use all operational equipment including a rare Brill curve-sided car, an open summer car, a Bullet car, work & snow-fighting equipment, and recently restored Johnstown Traction Co. #355.
Advance tickets are available by mail. Please enclose a stamped, self-addressed enveloped with your check payable to the East Broad Top Railroad, memo: Fall Spectacular. Be sure to specify the number and type of tickets requested.
