This culvert between Pogue and
Three Springs shows the
progressive improvements made to the EBT. The stone likely dates from
the 1889 reconstruction and the cast iron from the 1906+ reconstruction.
This is the main just south of the
Mount Union Yard throat. The chaos is the roadbed for the new US 522
bypass and where the track is missing is the future location of the
522 Grade Crossing, automated and
three rail no less.
The Robertsdale Station was the
gathering point prior to heading out on the day's explorations.
Inside the Robertsdale Station
is the only remaining EBT handcar, purchased and
restored by the FEBT.
The single Ash Pit in Mount Union
sports some sizable trees.
This is the best photo I've been able to get of
Martin's Old Mill Bridge. There's
no unposted route to it and it is hidden from view most of the year.
It's pouring rain as I snap this photo of
Woodvale Bridge. The inclement weather
discouraged me from finding a better angle. As it was I was holding my hood
over the camera.
