Press Release

In appreciation for 42 years of patronage, the East Broad Top will be holding its 2002 Community Appreciation Day on August 10th. Train tickets will be half price all day and additional trains will run including an evening Twilight Train. The Friends of the East Broad Top will be conducting free tours of the Rockhill Furnace EBT Yard and $5 tours of the historic one-of-a-kind Rockhill Shops Complex. FEBT will also be performing restoration work on the Historic Shops buildings for the public. A photo display in the station will document the extensive history of the EBT. The Rockhill Trolley Museum, adjacent to the EBT, will be running half price trolley trips all day on their recently extended line. Numerous food and craft vendors will be on-site along with an exotic animal display. "Grimmace" from Ronald McDonald land will be on the 11:00 AM train handing out gifts to the kids. A DJ will be on hand with live remote broadcasting all day. The day will be topped off with the annual Rockhill/Orbisonia homecoming Parade.

Tickets for regular trains are on a first come-first serve basis or can be pre-ordered by mail. Tickets for the 6:00 Twilight Train must be pre-ordered to insure seating. Tickets can be pre-ordered by mail by sending a check or money order for $5.00 per ticket to:

The East Broad Top Railroad and Coal Company
P.O. Box 158, Rt. 994
Rockhill Furnace, PA 17249

Specify regular train or twilight train tickets. If you wish your tickets to be mailed to you, include a stamped, self addressed envelope with your order. Please do not request tickets be mailed after August 5th. Otherwise tickets will be held for pickup.

We hope you will come by and have a great day riding the nation's oldest narrow gauge railroad.
